As they went out, they came upon a man of Cyrene, Simon by name; this man they compelled to carry his cross. Jesus told his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me”. Lord, you opened the eyes and heart of Simon of Cyrene, and you gave him, by his share in your Cross, the grace of faith. Help us to aid our neighbours in need, even when this interferes with our own plans and desires.
The extraordinary community charitable endeavours of the Kitchener Knights of Columbus are renowned. They have been accomplished by a dedicated nucleus of our faithful membership. So much has been done so often by so few. It is time to help carry the cross of Christ. Please consider contributing that energy and zeal you possessed when you became a Knight of Columbus. Your presence at our meetings and participation in supporting our charitable events is not only welcomed but needed.
Council 1504 is facing a precarious precipice due to declining membership that will challenge our resolve. As well while undertaking our charitable affairs, we will be introducing membership recruitments in our Kitchener parishes. Stand proud as a member Knight and participate in your parish campaign. The Kitchener Knights of Columbus is embarking on a journey that will challenge our steadfast member support. Help us to carry the cross.
